A euro cylinder is the locking mechanism that sits inside a euro profile lockcase — the standard format used in most contemporary lever locksets, multipoint locks, and sliding door locks in Australia. Choosing the right cylinder comes down to three things: the configuration (single, double, or half), the length to suit your door thickness, and the finish to match your hardware. We stock euro cylinders from Tradco, Iver, Wynns, Windsor, Zanda, and Mardeco.
Single Cylinders (Key/Turn)
Single cylinders are keyed on the outside and have a thumb turn on the inside — the most common configuration for residential entry doors. The Zanda Euro Single Cylinder is available in 60mm and 70mm, in Black, Brushed Nickel, Satin Brass and Satin Chrome, with keyed alike and keyed to differ options. The Wynns Euro Single Cylinder covers 45mm for thinner doors. The Windsor Single Cylinder Turns offers the widest finish range in the collection — ten options including Dark Roman Brass, Oil Rubbed Bronze, Natural Bronze, Roman Brass and Antique Bronze — making it the right call when you're matching to Windsor lever hardware or period-influenced door furniture.
Double Cylinders (Key/Key)
Double cylinders are keyed on both sides — used where a thumb turn would be a security risk, such as doors with glazing panels nearby. The Tradco Euro Double Cylinder is available in 65mm (5-pin, in Polished Brass, Signature Brass, Antique Copper, Matt Black and Polished Chrome) and 80mm (Signature Brass, Matt Black, Satin Chrome and Satin Brass). The Iver Euro Double Cylinder (45mm, 3-pin) comes in six finishes including Brushed Brass, Brushed Chrome and Satin Nickel — a natural match for Iver lever sets. The Zanda Euro Double Cylinder covers 60mm and 70mm in Brushed Nickel, Black, Satin Brass and Satin Chrome. The Windsor 60mm Double Cylinder again offers ten finishes for period and American-influenced interiors. The Wynns range covers 70mm and 90mm with a Matt Black Chrome option for darker hardware schemes.
Half Cylinders
Half cylinders are used in applications where only one side needs a key — common in deadbolts, padbar locks, and some sliding door hardware. The Zanda Euro Half Cylinder is available in 30mm and 35mm, in Brushed Nickel, Satin Brass and Satin Chrome, with both standard key and snip (break-off) variants.
Sliding Door Cylinders
The Mardeco Sliding Door Cylinder is designed specifically for sliding door locks, available in four door thickness ranges (35–58mm) and in Satin Chrome, Black, Bronze and Satin Brass.
Keying Options
Most cylinders in this range are available keyed to differ (each cylinder has its own unique key) or keyed alike (multiple cylinders operate on the same key). Master keying is also available — contact us to discuss requirements for larger projects.
If you're specifying a complete door set, pair your cylinder with a matching Escutcheon or Rose and browse our Door Handles range to coordinate finishes.
